Beasts Flip Flops Review

Beasts Flip flops – An innovative idea to bring the plight of endangered species to the attention of the common man

Beasts Footwear has created a stylish and modern concept to bring the growing concern for the environment and animal protection to the awareness of young and old alike.

The flip-flop that we are all so familiar with has been around for years, in fact between 1940 and 1960 two separate individuals have claimed responsibility for being the creator, though originally the design was stolen from the Japanese Zori (Japanese thong sandal).   What Beasts have done is created a rubber flip flop range utilizing beautiful images of endangered species.Beasts Flip-Flops

Currently, there are four animal designs to choose from in 4 separate categories:

  • Rainforest – Giant Panda
  • Polar – Polar Bear
  • Marine – Hawksbill Turtle
  • Safari – Africa Elephant

Not only is Beast’s designer and creator, Mel Gwinnett bringing much needed attention to the predicament these threatened species find themselves in, but as a corporate partner to the Born Free Foundation she is also making a £1 donation to the organisation for every pair of flip flops sold, aiding in their commitment to protecting these animals and their natural habitat.

The Born Free Foundation, originally known as ‘Zoo Check’, was founded in 1984 by partners Bill Travers and Virginia McKenna, OBE (Founder and Trustee), along with their son Will Travers (now Chief Executive Officer).  From small beginnings, the organisation has grown over the years and is now active worldwide in protecting endangered species and the habitats in which they strive to survive.    By working with local communities  Born Free have managed to create an understanding from the people inhabiting these threatened areas that they may co-exist with the wildlife, without conflict.

Beasts ‘Cool to be Kind Movement’ are striving to create a group of like-minded individuals to join forces and spread the word about conservation, and as the Born Free Foundation has shown, with continued nurturing and commitment, that tiny seed can mature into a thing of greatness, inspiring others to become involved in the on-going challenges that we face in repairing our beautiful planet, and those who inhabit it.
