Nanogen Hair Thickening Fibres Review

Though it’s a well-known fact that we chaps definitely improve with age, there are some aspects of the perfection process that are just not appealing, one of which has to be thinning hair, premature balding, or pattern baldness. Nanogen hair thickening fibres.

No, it’s not something new, and for years, men have tried a whole range of ways and means to disguise or overcome the issue. These include, ‘the dreaded comb-over’, massaging the scalp with a whole range of weird and (quite honestly) useless tonics and remedies which include: fig, castor, or olive oils, onion juice (really), various egg-based treatments, green tea and more.   Though these therapies are either rich in protein or other healing vitamins, none has shown lasting results, though the use of oils would surely create a smooth and moisturised scalp!

So men (and women) around the world have continued in their search to find a satisfactory treatment, and in 1990 a British Biotec start-up finally created Nanogen.

Natural Keratin Hair Fibres

Made from 100% Natural Keratin Fibres, the same as our own hair, these fibres carry an electrostatic charge which is held by the metal strip incorporated into the packaging – a very novel idea.  These charged particles then bond with your own hair, apparently creating a natural looking full head of hair!

Well, having been sent a sample of Nanogen, a couple of the Manscape team decided to test the product to see if it really did what it said on the packet, or was it just another gimmick!?

How to use Nanogen, Keratin Fibres

Whether you’re applying to thinning hair, or to hide baldness, simply sprinkle the Keratin fibres onto the area requiring treatment.  On our first attempt of application, we sprinkled sparingly, which was not sufficient.  So, be generous with the amount of product you use.

Having applied Nanogen a couple of times now we suggest you first view the Official Nanogen video below:

The Nanogen video clearly explains how to apply the product for best results.  Though it is a simple process (once you get the hang of it) the detailed information will certainly be of help.

We are absolutely amazed at how the fibres attach themselves to real hair, it certainly gives the appearance of a thicker and fuller head of hair and you can completely hide any signs of baldness.  We used our fingers to gently blend the fibres into the hair.

The Keratin fibres wash out with shampoo, so all you need do it reapply the following day, making it a part of you daily routine (or whenever you feel like covering it all up!).  Nanogen also makes a Fibre Locking Spray to hold the fibres in place, which also gives hair a natural shine, completing the process with style.

Though we haven’t tested it in differing environments we are told that sweating won’t be an issue either, i.e. there’s no colour leakage.  It also won’t stain skin, clothes or bed linen, and it’s been endorsed by the Alopecia Society.

Definitely, leave the Keratin Fibres at home if you are heading out on a hot date and a little rough and tumble could be involved! The product looks the part but having your amour run their fingers through your hair could cause a little embarrassment (on both sides).

We feel you’ll definitely require a little practice with the application process and styling to get the most ‘lifelike’ results.
