Gruhme No 14 Review

We are regularly asked to review a new men’s fragrance but it is rare to find an original men’s perfume that we genuinely like and want to wear. So, when we were invited to review ‘Gruhme no.14’, it was a pleasant surprise! In fact, so much so that for me, it is my current season ‘turn-to’ eau de toilette.

First Impressions of Gruhme No.14 Fragrance

Several years ago I took an extended holiday, spending some time travelling through Mediterranean port towns and cities. I remember staying in a hotel that overlooked a Citrus grove in Reggio Calabria, and in particular the intoxicating aroma of Bergamot and Lemon as it was swept up to the hotel balcony by the early morning breeze. I can only describe it as a refreshed sensation of well-being and left me feeling energised, albeit calm.

This is almost the feeling I experienced when I first sprayed on Gruhme, being briefly propelled back to that Citrus grove in Reggio Calabria. Okay, a little OTT I know, but you get the idea. It really does make you stop for a moment and think.

Gruhme Eau de Toilette Ingredients

It’s understandable that my initial thoughts drifted back to that Mediterranean holiday, as a quick review of Gruhme No 14’s principal ingredients confirmed a well thought-out combination of fragrant elements that included citrus fruits and lavender.

Aromatic wood accord with top notes of juniper berry, organic black peppercorn, bergamot, lemon, and lavender with a heart of patchouli, cedar on a base of oakwood, amber and musks interlaced with traces of cumin, celery seed and petitgrain.

History of Gruhme

Gruhme is the creation of Rob Hallmark, a former corporate lawyer who followed his passion for designing a range of sophisticated men’s products, starting with this flagship Fragrance, Gruhme No.14.

This fragrance is not for every man and exudes a certain sophistication and independence with it. The fragrance would not be amiss in a corporate boardroom or at a dinner function.
